Vita Vie Retreat utilizes the Thalassotherapy philosophy in combination with a unique blend of functional and dynamic full body training to enhance weight loss, relieve painful and tired joints and aid in rehabilitation of past injuries. The following are key concepts of our program:

Your Body is Your Ultimate Tool

Your body is your key to health and wellness and a lasting life on this earth. One body is all you have. Do you treat your body right?

Ask yourself these valuable questions...

  • Can you run for your life?

  • Can you push and pull your own body weight?

  • Do you want to grow old gracefully?

Using your body in the proper fashion and fueling it correctly can equal the perfect recipe for a healthy, happy strong body to carry you through your journey of life.

Weight Loss Is a Math Equation & a Little Bit More...
It comes down to a mathematical equation...and it doesnt. What does that mean? It is true that you must burn more than you take in to lose weight. However, each individual body is different and so is the rate at which you burn calories. Because of this we need to address each individual instead of a general population.

Truly Interested in Weight Loss? Knowing what you burn is a HUGE part of the equation. We provide all clients a basal metabolic rate sheet in which they can calculate the number of calories they are burning. In addition, we offer the bodybugg calorie tracking device and encourage clients to purchase one for their retreat to gauge exactly how many calories they are burning. Not knowing will hinder your success. Not only will the bodybugg assist during the retreat but a complete program is provided to guide you to your goal while at home.

Stress Reduction Plays a Major Role in Health & Weight Loss

Stress can drastically affect how the body functions. With all of the different types of stress including mental, physical, chemical, electromagnetic and thermal, we are exposed to many different stressors on a daily basis. Coming to the retreat, focusing on your body and mind and beginning the process of shedding negative stress will put you in a place that allows you body to heal inside and out.

The Beach and the Ocean are Calming & Healing

The ancient Greeks developed their own system of water-based therapies which used the healing elements and properties from the Mediterranean Sea, titled Thalassotherapy. Thalasso, meaning "sea" in Greek was used to revitalize, rejuvenate and refresh the mind, body and soul. Breathing in the healing sea air, rich in negative ions and sea minerals, aids in this revitalizing and healing process. Walking on the edge of the ocean as well as in the water allows for the inhalation of sea minerals such as sodium, magnesium, chloride and sulphate which are then absorbed through the lungs and directly into the blood stream.

Sodium, the main positive ion found in sea water, is also found in extra-cellular fluids in our bodies. These fluids, such as blood plasma, bathe cells and carry out important transport functions for nutrients and waste. Positive magnesium ions are also used by the body and are an ingredient of some medicines like Epsom salts, which are commonly used to treat aches and pains. Negative chloride ions also play an important physiological role in the central nervous system and in transporting protein around the body. The effect of Thalassotherapy can be profound. Thalassotherapy has a beneficial effect on the skin, cellular exchange, respiratory system and the whole body as there will be increased oxygenation, elimination of toxins and a revitalization of the mind and body.

With many beach walks and activities included in the schedule, Vita Vie Retreat incorporates the healing of the sea and the sea air to aid in the optimal function of your body. In addition to your body's revitalization, Thalasso-Fit is also a great benefit to the mind. Positive Mental Stress and Electromagnetic Stress are also associated directly with the sea and the sun. The healing elements of being by the sea and the sun can do wonders for mood, vitamin D production and contribute to an overall positive outlook. The sea remains a place where people relax, rejuvenate and renew.
