They've coined themselves "the original destination spa", and I do believe it! It is a beautiful setting, Mediterranean style rooms, gardens, produce hand picked from the gardens, fish purchased at the outdoor market. No TV's here, and arts & crafts classes abound. A little granola in these respects for my taste, but relaxing, that"s for sure. It is a good thing to shut out the rest of the world, something that I"ve been missing. This place is back to basics, which makes you feel healthy!

Program Design: 3.5

There is an array of fitness classes to choose from and they have added a "Fitness Navigator" to help put a schedule together for you for the week, but there really isn't a program, per say, to follow. You aren't meeting with nutritionists, therapists, coaches, or program coordinators to fill in all the gaps. There are certain topics covered each week from guest speakers, but if you are looking for a place to change your life, this isn't it. This is a break from your life. I mean, the place has art and bird watching classes for goodness sakes.

This Fitness Retreat is exactly that...some fitness, a laid back retreat without all the high tech testing equipment, tv's, internet, etc. and basically a from the earth menu that screams healthy!!! What can I say, I like my tv and high speed internet, and while this is the most relaxing place that I have ever been to, I for one, can't be completely cut off from the world, as I must work to pay my bills so that I can afford to take a trip like this.

Activities/Services: 3.5

I put this as so so, only because there is no state of the art testing here, personal training, nutritionists or therapy sessions. I don't think there is a VO2 Max or Hydrostatic Body Fat test within a million miles of this place, but if you are looking for spa services, they have it all!

Staff: 3.5

The staff are super caring and dedicated individuals. The reason that I put them in the so so category is only because they don't have the resumes of some of their competitors on staff on a regular basis. Having a life coach or therapist, nutritionist, medical personnel on staff is necessary to reach and maintain health and fitness goals!

Cost: 4
