Canyon Ranch is an absolutely beautiful desert Resort that is the ultimate in luxury and service, which is why I picked this as the #1 Fitness Resort that I visited.

Program Design: 4

Canyon Ranch offers a list of all-inclusive programs including their Peak Performance and Weight Loss Program. Wow! Some programs, such as their Weight Loss Program, do only fall on certain weeks during the year, though, so availability of start dates are limited. With any of the packages you can choose which group fitness classes and lectures or workshops you'd like to attend, and they do offer a really large list of services that you can choose from (at an additional cost). This isn't the place to go to if you need motivation to show up though. You are on your own, but that is to be said with most other fitness camps that I have been to, which is why the program design is rated a 4. I look at it like this, I know I'm not a professional football player that is training to be good at my sport, but I am an individual who needs to be trained to lose 20 lbs so that I can feel good in my body. I need a program that makes me work to get there. You wouldn't give the football player a choice of what he'd like to work on today, just like I want to pay for someone to put my program together for me so that I get the most results that I can. This program isn't built that way, but it does offer a lot if you can build your program yourself.

The facility here is both beautiful and state-of-the-art with a hard to find medical staff on hand to test everything from your thyroid to food intolerances. The living accommodations are also really nice! You will have everything that you need in your basic hotel room or suite including high speed internet and cable television.

Too many to mention. This place has it all and is definitely a fitness spa. A full service spa & salon, & medical staffing on top of everything else. Be careful though if you are wanting to come in the summer months, as it is sweltering hot and you won't be able to enjoy the outdoors in 104 degree heat.

The cost here could break your bank depending on your budget. Here is a list of my expenses while staying here. 7 days in a 1 bedroom Suite = $9,310 which allowed for a $1200 spa credit to use toward Services. Included in the price were accommodations, 3 meals and snacks daily, unlimited fitness classes and use of the spa. OUCH!!
