How to Get Motivated to do Exercises
Submitted:2011-04-28Author:-Ashton Smith
There are many that stay away from exercising all the time. This is because they lack the motivation to exercise. There always needs to be some factor that would get us through the times when the small voice at the back of our head would want us to sit and relax. Some people find the motivation in playing with a team; some find the motivation to perform better in a game. Some just find motivation to get back in shape by look at themselves and their out of shape body in the mirror. Whatever the motivation is, there are tremendous benefits of exercising. It helps you reduce your body weight, makes your bones stronger, gets rid of harmful cholesterol, helps us to battle depression and some experts say it even helps us to improve our daily lives. Everyone wants to exercise; the problem is that they lack the motivation to do so. Here are some quick tips to motivate you to exercise.
Set realistic goals:
It is very important to have goals when you are exercising. However, you should make sure that you are setting realistic goals for yourself. Don’t try to go out on all or nothing routine. Take it slow and steady. You don’t have to start off trying to work out every day. You can choose to do your favorite exercise for 20 to 30 minutes two to three times a week to begin with.
Track your progress:
It’s important that you have progress in what you are doing. You should track your progress to monitor how much you are improving everyday. Now this does not have to be a high tech fancy tracking. You can just keep a count of how many reps you are doing everyday and how much you do extra every day. This can be done by making simple notes in your diary.
Don’t compare:
We all want bodies that are ripped and we are all jealous of those that can lift tons of weight in the gym who don’t have a shred of flab in their bodies. However we should remember that they were also once like us. Forget about them. Concentrate on your own goals.
Find the Fun:
Have fun in exercising. Incorporate a game in your regime. This will automatically motivate you.
Make it convenient:
If you are not going out of your way to work out, like you find a gym that is close to home or get your equipment home, you would become more regular in working out.
