Fitness is very important in one’s life to lead a long and healthy life. It is the only key for the same and it cannot be attained via shortcuts. In fact there are no shortcuts only. It is especially very important for a person who leads a hectic life as it could be very stressful. Most people work 24x7 all through the year at times with barely anytime for even eating and sleeping. Most of these people also do not have any physical activity as they follow sitting jobs. They also do not eat proper and nutritious meals every day. As a result their health gets drastically affected and as they hit middle age they contract several illnesses and under worst case scenario even die. Over the last couple of decades ever since the face of the world has been revolutionized by technology and various other similar factors many people have been following the same hectic routine and suicides rates due to stress have increased largely.

Primarily it all comes down to unhealthy lifestyle and over exerting one’s body. There are many questions lingering in one’s mind about healthy routine. Will better sleep help one avoid extra pounds? Could lack of sufficient sleep be a cause for gaining weight? How much does it affect one’s health, wellness, energy levels, training and weight etc?

The solutions to the above questions are quite simple. It is a fact and really true. Lack of sleep or insufficient sleep will cause the above factors to get drastically affected. How much is a question related to an individual as each and every individual has a unique body which works differently. There are also medical experts and researchers and other analysts who vouches for the same after several studies and experiments. Just like how food, water and oxygen is pretty much necessary for one to sustain life on a daily basis, sleep also is an important factor. In fact it is one among the basic necessities for one to sustain life every day.

The research term is commonly called as sleep-diet connection. It is not that if you sleep you will lose weight. It is just that if you do not sleep, you will end up gaining weight as the body stores fat for energy which it requires every day in sufficient amounts for sustaining life. It all comes down to irregular metabolism rate. The body has to be understood. It is sort of a relationship. You understand how the body works, your body understands how much energy you need every day for doing what you do and it provides the same. Whereas when you follow a irregular routine with untimely eating habits, insufficient and irregular sleeping habits, it gets confused and doesn’t really know when to provide that energy. Thus as an alternative it stores fat as a buffer to provide you energy at all times. Eventually you end up gaining weight.

Being fit is not just about finding time for exercising every day. In fact you will end up gaining weight despite how hard you exercise at times. It is a network where diet, sleep and exercise that shapes up a person’s mind and body.
